Middle School

Dear Middle School Parents,

We are looking to another exciting year at JAMM!

Students will have the opportunity to participate in our Middle School sports program and to run for office as a member of our Associate Student Body (ASB) Student Government.  As part of the ASB, students will help to plan after school dances for the middle school as well as selecting the Spirit Day themes, and supporting our school events.  We encourage all students to get involved in sports and student government and become informed about events at JAMM.

Another exciting feature exclusive to our JAMM middle school students is the one-to-one Chrome book devices.  Grades 6-8 have the ability to take their laptop home on a daily basis to complete any assignments, homework, and projects.  In every classroom, teachers have set up Google Classrooms, which allows for posting of announcements, assigned work, and a great way to communicate with fellow classmates or teachers.  We encourage you to have your student demonstrate the great features of Google Classroom.  This technology truly allows for 21st Century Learning!

In middle school we believe that communication is key! In order for you to stay fully informed in the happenings in the classroom or at the school, it is important that we have your current email address on file in the office. All notices will be sent home electronically to alleviate the papers at the bottom of backpacks. All teachers at JAMM use an on-line grade book called Aeries. In middle school we use the live grade book feature, which gives parents the opportunity to check their students’ grades on a daily basis.  In our classroom routines, we have students regularly check their grades, so that they are aware of graded assignments as well as if they have any missing assignments. Parents can access the online grade book using aeries.mhusd.org.  If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact your student’s teacher for further information.

We look forward to a fantastic school year!

Sincerely,

JAMM Middle School Team
