2019 MATHCOUNTS Coyote Valley Chapter Competitors from JAMM
Every Fall, Jackson students are offered the opportunity to join MATHCOUNTS. Students who join the MATHCOUNTS program will train after school, once a week, from September through December, sharpening their skills in counting, series and sequences, probability, permutations and combinations, functions, algebra, and geometry. This program really focuses on problem solving. Students are encouraged to do their best, push their limits and excel! Every fall we begin an exciting season of exploring problem solving strategies with a talented group of math students. I hope to challenge the students looking for challenges and intrigue the ones who are here because they enjoy solving math puzzles. Participation in MATHCOUNTS puts the middle school student on a firm footing for both the near future (such as excelling on the math section of the SAT) and for longer term goals, including being successful in the many fields of study where problem solving is key.
